Cultural Attractions

Washakie Museum and Cultural Center

The museum features two permanent exhibits and space for temporary galleries. The Museum also serves as a center for visual and performing arts, conferences, conventions and other gatherings.

Worland Parks & Recreation

Worland features 7 city parks, many of which have received updated equipment within the last couple of years: softball/baseball fields, basketball courts, football fields, soccer fields, volleyball courts, and tennis courts can all be found within some of the parks. An outdoor fitness center was added to the Riverside Park.

Worland Community Center Complex

The community center features 2 gymnasiums and several multi-purpose rooms. Recreational Activities including both youth and adult sports are offered as well as educational opportunities. Youth sports include basketball, volleyball, soccer, gymnastics, karate, dance and boxing. Rooms are available to rent for special events and private parties.

Green Hills Golf Course

Green Hills Golf in Worland Wyoming features 18 holes of family-friendly golf at great prices. Open to the public 7 days a week and features 6444 yards of rolling green hills, trees, ponds, and bunkers. The course is well maintained and is focused on player enhancement. Available to customers are cart rentals, golf shop, practice greens, driving range, and a full restaurant and bar with indoor/outdoor seating. Website

Hurricane Lanes Bowling alley

Hurricane Lanes offers 12 lanes for families and can be booked for parties or other events. As of 2024, Hurricane Lanes opened Buzzard’s Bar & Grill inside where they serve burgers and cool drinks among other items. They have also added new gaming machines. Facebook

Worland Aquatic Center

The Worland Aquatic Center facility opened in 2012. It is open year-round and provides a hot tub, dive tank, competition pool, therapy pool, and leisure pool with a slide. Website

Big Horn Mountains

The Big Horn Mountains are just minutes away from Ten Sleep and half an hour from Worland and they provide a great get-away. Climbing, Camping, Fishing, Hiking, Downhill and Cross-Country Skiing, and riding ATVs and Snowmobiles are all very popular activities. Meadowlark Lake and Ski Lodges too with a restaurant, cabins, etc. by Meadowlark Lake.

Washakie Medical Center

The Washakie Medical Center in Worland, Wyoming, is a 25-bed critical access hospital serving the residents of the Big Horn Basin. The county-owned hospital has been operated by Banner Health and its predecessors since 1949.

Weather

Being in the Big Horn Basin shelters Worland and Ten Sleep from much of the inclement weather. Worland has the distinction of being the least windy city in Wyoming. Summers have plenty of sunshine and warm weather. Winters provide enough snow for skiing and other winter activities.
